Our Story

Every country needs upstanding citizens to ensure its success in the world. In order to have these citizens, they must be proud, patriotic lovers of their homeland. We at Sussya Leadership Training Program teach this much needed patriotism and Zionism. We believe that without creating a passion about who we are, there’s no reason to expect great things from our next generation. We in Sussya expect great things because we use that old tool called MOTIVATION. Realizing that we are at a crucial stage in our history, when patriotism is waning and knowledge of our Land’s history is even further off the radar, Sussya created a new reality – a new status quo.

What is Sussya Leadership Training Program?
Established in 1997, we are the premier place to influence today’s 14-17 year old teens before they become tomorrow’s Army inductees. We bring together students from all over Israel to compete with over 200 peers for 35 coveted yearly slots to join us in their evolution into manhood. (We now have a 2nd campus in the North with equal #s)

Why do so many want to come?
Parents and kids know that there’s a gap between what once was the normal everyday love of the Land and today’s reality. They know that in order to defend the Land and risk their lives they must know why. They know that a bond with our history and Home is a necessity.

How do we form this bond?
Every week we teach our students via hikes throughout all of the Land of Israel, so at the end of our four years they’ve seen the vast majority of it. We use the Bible to show where we come from and where we are going. They in turn have solidified their faith and go onto officer training programs in elite units of the IDF, remaining steadfast in their Judaism and IN Israel to develop their potential.

We in Sussya have created a revolution in education and have been recognized by the State of Israel with the receipt of the 2004 National Prize for excellence in education.
Now, in 2004 - 2005, we plan to launch an additional exciting project. Our students will start creating friendships with peers all over Israel. We will be joining secular and religious teens from all over Israel together. We’ll hike together and truly appreciate our shared heritage. Our students-past & present will also speak to classrooms on their valued ideals and our staff will cultivate relationships with other school’s faculty.

Lovers of Israel have been joining us, as they understand the importance of what we’re doing. People from all over the world are enthusiastically joining our efforts. Supporters are coming on board because they see Sussya as a place to support because they enjoy what we’re doing. This is philanthropy as it was meant to be – people sharing part of themselves to create a better world.
